Two Days with Safari and...

The big news on Monday was the a release announcement from Steve Jobs, of Apple fame, that Apple's web browser Safari was being released for usage with Windows!

This seems like a nice gesture by Apple and a way for computers to become more compatible no matter what operating system and that's great! Just one problem exists: There are already 2 solid web browsers for Windows!!!

Everyone that reads this blog knows that I love Firefox and the wonderfully huge database of extensions. I'm not alone in this passion for this web browser, but for the incredibly faithful Windows crowd, there is always Internet explorer. Each of these has tabbed browsing which helps to multi task as well a very convenient search bar for your favorite search engine.

And now Apple releases Safari for Windows and it has to compete with these two strong browsers. What's the point? Firefox is more secure with a huge library of extensions while Internet Explorer is strong with Microsoft fans.

I've been trying out Safari for the last two days and nothing has blown me out of the water. Nothing seems to be that great and there is really nothing of revolutionary standing in comparison to Firefox or Internet Explorer.

Keep in mind that I'm not trying to downgrade Apple's product, I just think it was unnecessary to introduce a nice and simple product like Safari into a fierce competitive market for Windows web browsing.

Try it yourself and let me know your thoughts! Link up, subscribe and leave some comments.

Have a great day!
