A New Look and A Small Reflection

If you are reading this blog for the first time, I hope you like it!

If you read this blog on a regular basis, you should notice an appearance change. This is mainly because of the simple fact that I am ready for the wonders of spring and summer to appear!

I'm sure everyone in the state of Wisconsin is getting to that point in their yearly cycle and for good reason! We are hitting a time period where the temperature seems to fluctuate by 50 degrees in a day, the sun only makes an appearance on days when our schedules are so packed with "to-do's" that we put off even the most critical tasks to enjoy the weather and precipitation moves from rain to snow to sublime in a matter of minutes!

On a day that seems to fit the middle ground of all the above named qualifications, my mind has wandered off to one of the best summer's of my life: Summer '05.

This was the kind of summer that memoirs and movies and TV series are based on. Everything seems to be in balance. Friendships grow stronger because of lost high school relationships that weren't really going anywhere, family ties seem to reaffirm themselves in our personal lives and personal explorations and opinions are formed from experiences.

Everything seems to make sense and work in the world (even the weather!). Outdoor concerts become a tradition, boating/tubing/wake boarding become second nature and expected at least once a week and for the first time in our lives, work is something that we enjoy because we don't need to think and we can just have fun with "the guys".

This summer, of course, came to end with the beginnings of a wonderful, healthy relationship with a girl who has the same passions for summer that I do! What more could a guy ask for?

The following summer was just as great, but it is always hard to beat the first one. There is nothing quite like that one that was the beginning of it all!

I have a feeling that I'm not the only one with this kind of experience for a summer so feel free to share or send me a link to your blog!

Have a great day and as always, feel free to leave your comments!
